true shit.

I live in Arizona, everyone bumps SPM and older Three 6 mafia out here.... honest to god, I know only one other person that knows of Z-Ro. I got introduced to Screw music threw SPM like ten years ago, one of my friends older brother bought the power moves cd, the 2nd disc was screwed by dj screw, he didn't like and told me to take it, every since then i've been into the music coming from h-town. if it wasn't for the internet, I wouldn't know about Z-Ro, Lil Keke etc. I thought it was funny, I heard still tippin year before it came out on the radio or was played on MTV. the independent record store where I live carries most of the major chopped and screwed albums, but I have to order most of the cds I want

I feel what you saying. He's one of the most talented out of Houston maybe the South, one of the most versatile, and one of the most intelligent. He seen it all, live it in and out the pin(not co-signing) but shit really If had to jam only ONE artist. Itll probably be Ro. He can get it like Face and spit real gangsta, or do that corny Plies "bitch I wanna fuck" type shit. So Z-Ro keep doing it, and when the year is done I hope there more collabs and singles out with you behind them.

I feal what you sayin Swisha-house!

I get slim or ro's album's in regular speed at my local dealer in the innercity. chopped up mixes and more undergroundish music i usually have to import.
that's really fuckin me up sometimes plus i never get any mixtapes.

and yeah over here only few cats around me are bangin screw. i feel like the rest is only listening to the shit on mtv and autotune bullshit- or the westcoast.
screw music is very unknown too! so i can easily say "hey my batterie on the ipod is low that's why the music sounds so weird" and people believe me...

When it comes to Ro's projects he sure do get the short end of the stick when it comes to "Chopped Versions" cause only a few good ones out and the rest sucks ass completely. The total amount of actual good chopped versions of Ro albums I can count on 1 hand. Of course I might get debated on someone will disagree on the comment but IT IS WHAT IT IS.

I agree on the chopped version comment Wesside....i bang em rather than the regular tho cause....well, i don't even know what the words "regular speed" mean for the most part, but if i have to pick, theres Crack Swisha House remix, and Im still Livin (even tho its chopped by Paul), and that Z-Ro greatest verses wit rapid ric an OG, and other than that, HE has carried his music, not the chop job on his cds...so in that sense, u are exactly right IMO...

some niggas still bang screw in little rock (Arkansas), but like you said, most people playing that auto-tune shit. i aint knocking it, but i do feel like screwheads are a dying breed. nobody likes to jump in my ride cuz they know ima be bangin some slowed down shit (probably some pre-2000 shit). its all good tho, as long as screw music is still being made and i know where to find it......IM STRAAAIIIGHTT!!! Much love to SCREW WORLD for keeping this shit alive.

Screw music died when Screw died. So therefore it isn't any more SCREW MUSIC. IMO.

IMO, screw music has not died....if you didnt have Watts & OG out there, it would be a different story....but them boys been holdin it down for a looooong time, got stripes in this shit, got respect in this shit, so they have kept it alive......DJ D is the closest to them 2, but come on now, yall boys know, even long as D been doin it, he aint on OG or 5000 level...

I don't agree with that, but I feel what you sayin. I don't think Screw would have wanted us to look at it that way. I think he would want his legacy to live on after him - through his music, and the way his music influenced all these new niggas. So when I say "Screw Music" im just paying respect to the man who created this whole shit. Who else we gon name this site after???? Its only one originator.

Screw didnt like or nor wanted anybody attaching his name on to shit he didnt touch he hated that with an passion thats no secret.

Watts, Ron C, DJ.D, DJ Bone etc..etc.. All got dissed and clowned for callin they shit "Screwed and Chopped" if Screw didnt do it hell it wasnt SCREW period. No IFs, ANDs, Nor BUTs about that. He said that shit numerous of times on tapes and dvds etc..etc..Which is why I made the comment I made about theres no more Screw..Slowed And Chopped?? Yes., Chopped Not Slopped?? Yes., Swishahouse Remix?? Yes., Chop-A-Lot?? Yes!!..But Screwed And Chopped or Screw Music???? Hell Naw..Screw's gone. It's kool if he want the legacy to stay alive just long as muthafuckas dont use his name which is what every Tom, Dick And Harry seem to be doing now-a-days especially when it comes to these PCDJs.

Truth be told there was ppl Slowin down mixes and shit before Screw like for instance D.Scott or those kats down there in florida in the late 80s JPE AKA Jam Pony Express. Only thing was they wasn't double tappin, scratchin and bringin it back.

i think the problem wit D for me is his chops is too plain jane, and predictable. Watts and OG been showin complete naked ass on everything they do(for the majority)for a loooong time...Tell the truth, there is alot of albums DJ D chopped up that i really, really wish Watts or OG had done....DJ D is way thowed, his work just doesn't compare to the other 2 tho...

my fav. DJ D album - Scarface - Last of a dying Breed

dj d is my fav too. his blends are better than watts or ron c.

I don't remember what Og Ron C mixtape it is, but he says something along the lines of... "screw didn't do all the fancy shit, Screw keep it real, all those tricks arent screw music"
